SOLO - Flexible Solar Panels
The SOLO project is supported by Innovation Fund Denmark through their InnoBooster program. InnoBooster invests in development projects together with small and medium-sized Danish companies.
Technology
The crystalline silicon solar cells are well known and used all around the world to produce energy. However, they are mechanically fragile and must be mounted on a glass plate. Printed solar cells, on the other hand, are a unique technology that can be produced very quickly with a small environmental foot print and can easily be disposed of or recycled. The SOLO panels are light weight, flexible, do not splint, can be molded to curves and allow installation on any existing structure due to the low weight.
Projects
Production of SOLO panels, with an effect of 12-Watt, demands innovation not only in the processing but also concerning the processing equipment that are applied in the production. This covers the preparation of the materials that are needed in the production together with the physical handling and storage. At infinityPV we wishes to take advantage of the compact formfactor of the printed solar cell both in the production and application. With this project infinityPV wishes to build the capacity, which enables us easily and dynamically to adjust the daily production of the SOLO panels.
