Introduction to ISOS15 and infinityPV’s Participation
From September 30th to October 2nd, we had the pleasure of participating in ISOS15, the 15th International Summit on Organic and Hybrid Perovskite Solar Cell Stability, held in Berlin. As proud sponsors of the event, we at infinityPV showcased our Laboratory Roll-to-Roll Coater, LBIC, and Source Measure Units at our booth, providing attendees an opportunity to experience our cutting-edge technologies firsthand.
Insights from Our CEO on Solar Cell Characterization
Our CEO, Frederik Krebs, delivered an engaging presentation focused on the critical importance of precise electrical characterization under illumination for research on organic solar cells and novel solar technology devices. He highlighted that testing stability over extended periods under controlled conditions while tracking changes is crucial to ensuring consistent performance. At infinityPV, we offer a versatile range of multichannel Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) Source Measure Units operating at power levels from 0.1 to 5 watts. These devices, when paired with advanced LED-based light sources covering wavelengths from 375 nm to 1900 nm, enable comprehensive degradation experiments under moderate solar concentration. Coupling them with our Laser Beam Induced Current (LBIC) mapping system provides detailed insights into device degradation and processing traces, essential for optimizing solar cell performance.
Introducing the EIFFEL Project and Our New PhD Student
We were also proud to introduce Ümran Işıl Biçer, our new PhD student, who presented the EIFFEL project at the summit. The EIFFEL project aims to recruit and train ten talented Doctoral Candidates who will work on individual projects across European research institutions and universities, significantly advancing the field of organic photovoltaics. Ümran’s participation underscores our commitment to fostering collaboration between academia and industry, pushing the boundaries of solar technology research.
The Importance of Stability in Organic and Hybrid Solar Cells
ISOS15 continues to serve as an essential platform for advancing discussions on the stability of organic and hybrid perovskite solar cells. The summit focuses on topics ranging from the intrinsic stability of materials to strategies for protecting devices from extrinsic degradation. With the potential for broader use cases and increasing efficiency of third-generation solar cells, stability is a major driver for the viability and cost-effectiveness of solar cell technology.
